Hi! Tell us a little about you…the day to day Camille

A typical day for me varies greatly at the moment. I work as the Food & Drink Editor of Exclusive Magazine and I also run my own blog and work with PR companies and restaurants, so each day is usually very busy with reviews and work commitments. Sometimes I have the luxury of working from home but I am often in Liverpool, Manchester and Chester for work too. Wherever I am, I always drink plenty of coffee, usually in various coffee shops which I call my second home when I have a lot of writing to do.  I love what I do and I never dreamed that I would make my goal of writing for a living a reality. I live in the Wirral at present, as I moved to Liverpool many years ago to do my Masters Degree in Advanced Language Studies. I love the area and Liverpool is a truly amazing city. In my free time, I love shopping, eating out and going home to visit my family in Derbyshire.

What do you blog about, and where do you find inspiration for your content?

When I started my blog, it had more of a fashion and beauty direction. I started my blog as a hobby whilst I was working as a freelance translator. After a while, the blog grew organically and it has now taken on a more food and drink focused direction. I am very fortunate to be able to write about some amazing restaurants and bars and I work with some incredible fashion and beauty companies too. I still try to intersperse my food posts with some fashion and beauty content just to keep up a little variety. I am thrilled that my blog has become so popular as it is definitely my ‘baby’ and I feel very proud of how it has grown. When I am lacking inspiration, I sit down with a notepad to brainstorm ideas for content.

How would you describe your style….any favourite outfits?

I love fashion and I would describe my style as classic with a little edge  here and there. I love shopping at Zara, Primark and H&M. I dress fairly smartly on a day to day basis due to work, but I also love ripped jeans, band logo t-shirts and leather jackets. In summer, I like to dress a little bohemian, with maxi dresses, fringed kimonos and denim shorts forming a key part of my style. I also love black dresses to wear on a night out and I own far too many!

You look great! Do you have a particular skin and hair care regime?

Well thank you, that is very kind!  I have to take a little  more care with my skin these days to avoid fine lines where possible. I try to drink plenty of water and I always cleanse my skin with a foaming cleansing wash such as one by Nivea. I also love Micellar cleansing water to remove make up and sometimes I use cleansing wipes as a ‘quick fix’ although they make my skin a little dry. I moisturise morning and night and I try to use a face mask once per week. For my hair, I dip-dye it at home to get an Ombre effect. I usually wash and blow dry my hair every day and I use Batiste dry shampoo for volume and GHD hair irons to make my hair sleek. I use an intensive conditioner once per week to keep my hair in condition too.

Have you had any styling faux-pas? Tell us what happened?!

Oh gosh yes, far too many to mention over the years! I would say that I only discovered my own personal style in my thirties and I have begun to dress more for my shape which is tall and curvy. When I was younger I definitely wore some awful outfits. I am trying to forget, but there are plenty of photographs to remind me!

Who are your iconic idols and why?

I think that Kate Moss always looks effortlessly chic with a rock chick edge which I adore. I also love Amber Heard as she looks stunning both on the red carpet and off-duty. Nicole Richie has always had an eye for good outfits and some of Kim Kardashian’s outfits also appeal to my personal taste of stylish separates, glamourous dresses, tailored coats and designer bags.

The ‘desert island question’…what the heck, let’s ask anyway! 3 things you MUST take with you?

Sunblock, potatoes for their versatility and…can I say wine?!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?

I would like to see myself happy and settled in both my personal life and my career. I hope to own my own home and also to continue my writing career. I hope to become an author in the future and I have a draft manuscript of a novel I wrote many years ago, which I still hope to get around to finishing! Ideally, I would love to be able to travel a lot more too, as I feel nothing broadens my horizons like seeing the world.

Finally, what is the best ever piece of advice you could offer the fashion novice?

Do not worry about following trends, but rather find your own personal style which suits your shape. Invest in good quality basics which form the core of a capsule wardrobe such as stylish bags, well-fitting jeans, tops, skirts, dresses, tailored blazers and coats. I do not spend a fortune on clothing but sometimes I  invest in some designer sunglasses or a stylish bag which add a little shine to any outfit and make you look more polished. When all else fails, reach for some skinny jeans, a v neck t shirt and a blazer or biker jacket, which is my default style when I can’t figure out what to wear!

Thank you CocoCamille...that was fantastic.
