We caught up with Brandy of blog Aunthentically+B.  The Texas born primary school teacher began her blog after doing up a 1920's cottage that she bought with her husband.  Doing much of the work herself, she grew in confidence and was keen to share what she had learnt with others. Aunthentically+B was born.

Brandy writes articles on a variety of topics – from home improvement and craft through to fashion, travel and food.  In 2010, she was introduced to the concept of wearing her hair natural by her sister.  Following in her sister's footsteps, Brandy became an advocate of natural hair and has documented her hair journey with her readers.

Here she tells us about her experience...

"When I think back over my hair journey, I remember a time when wearing my hair natural wasn't on my radar. It is so sad to think that once in my life, I was partially detached from who I am based on common beauty standards. This is one of the major reasons I'm so excited to share information with others who are thinking about going natural or changing their hair. It really brings you closer to who you are as a person. It's not just about hair, it's about overall identity. "
