This week, we caught up with Nigerian entrepreneur Lade Salami, of Hairducation.  Previously working as a lawyer, Lade took a leap of faith to pursue her passion for hair care and has never looked back.  Today, Lade is a certified hair care professional with a diploma in Afro Hair Care.

Her website, Hairducation, is a healthy hair care guide for relaxed and texlaxed women like herself.  Lade shares advice and techniques that she used on her own hair care journey, which she began out of frustration with constant hair breakage and unhealthy looking hair.

We asked Lade to share some thoughts on her hair experience...

"When I look at my hair, I see past its length and thickness.  What I see and love is the journey growing my hair has taken me on.  Growing my hair has taught me that the most harmful limits are the ones we place on ourselves.  It has forced me to question and wonder what else is possible if I put in the work.

Growing my hair to waist length is something I believed to my core was impossible, and now that it's done, I approach life and the challenges it brings with a different attitude.  Now, when something seems impossible ... I'm like... okay... let's do this!!!!"

GET THE LOOK:

We love Lade's use of hair accessories.  Follow her lead and take inspiration from Solange Knowles, by incorporating the beading trend into an updo.  Or, create a regal effect by accessorising with metallics such as a gold leaf bun holder.  Complete the look by teaming with a monochrome outfit or statement print piece.
