It's Milan Fashion Week and the runway has never looked so stylish.  Eva Velt, who has modelled at the event for designers such as Alviero Martini, shares her top personal style tips for dressing off the catwalk...

1. Own your style.

"Instead of looking at what other people wear, try to find out what you like to wear.  Trends come and go but an 'own style' is solid and stays."

2. Be daring with colours.

"A vibrant blue beanie with an orange jacket or a pink skirt with a red sweater.  You don’t have to go crazy, just a pop will already make you stand out."

3. Clothes can change your mood.

"When you feel down, wear a happy summer colour.  When you want to feel feminine, a nice pair of heels can definitely change your vibe.  Yes, clothes can be therapy in my opinion."

4. Watch out for your underwear.

"White pants tend to be see-through and show your underwear.  A yellow summer dress with blue bra straps isn’t that pretty.  Be careful about these things."

5. Go peek at the men's section.

"They can have very cool shirts/blouses/socks/belts/beanies etc.  I love my boyfriend's clothing.  I often steal his oversized shirts which I wear as a dress, with leggings and some moto boots."
